P A L A H N I U K: The Great and Powerful

The wise and crafty Chuck Palahniuk is tied with Bret Easton Ellis for being my favorite author. His novels have made my brain melt on more than one occasion. I'm so astonished by his writing. I feel like he effortlessly writes these novels, creates these memorable and amazing characters, and puts in these soon to be iconic quotes. I'm really impressed by Chuck Palahniuk.

I've finally finished reading all the novels he's written. And now I find myself pining for the next Palahniuk fix. Should I begin rereading all his novels? The answer is always Y E S.

Here is a lovely roundup of my thoughts and opinions on the greatness that is a Palahniuk novel.

Choke: My spirit animal. And my favorite Palahniuk novel. Choke on this review.

Lullaby: Wicked twisted. Wicked awesome. This is the most moral compass challenging Palahniuk novel. A wicked Lullaby review.

Haunted: Like a satirical episode of The Twilight Zone (1959-1964)Get Haunted by this review.

Tell-All: Lovely homage to old Hollywood with that classic Palahniuk charm. As a filmmaker and lover of scandals (!) Tell-All was a treat. My Tell-All post.

Invisible Monsters: My favorite satirical novel from Mr. Palahniuk and my third favorite Palahniuk novel. Everything was relevant and nothing hurt. The Invisible Monsters review.

Snuff: Hilarious premise for a novel. A whole fictional novel about the porn industry, but with a subtext that would make you think a philosopher wrote it.  My review of Snuff.

Invisible Monsters Remix: I hate remixes, but this is one I'll read over and over. Invisible Monsters Remix reviewed.

Damned: If I was a thirteen year old girl, Damned was written about me. Read this Damned review.

Fight Club: It's amazing how many years I went without coming across any Fight Club spoilers. Read the book and my jaw dropped. All I have to say is: TYLER DURDEN LIVES

Rant: The most fascinating, thought provoking, confusing concept for a book I've ever read. I was confused out of my mind reading Rant and yet I still understood the majority of it. Rave and Rant at the review.

Diary: The first Palahniuk novel I ever read. When I finished it, I had no words. I couldn't believe someone had written a novel like that. I wanted to be a character in Diary watching the whole story unfold.

Pygmy: My least favorite Palahniuk novel. My disappointing Pygmy post.

Survivor: Reminded me of Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis. .weiver rovivruS

My three favorite Palahniuk novels (in order) are Diary, Choke and Invisible Monsters

Here is the catalyst post and initial praise of Palaniuk's novels.

Sidenote: Chuck Palahniuk is like the Batman of the literary world. I once read on the back of one of his novels, "Chuck Palahniuk, is the visionary we need and the satirist we deserve." That little sentence reminded of what Commissioner Gordon said about Batman at the end of The Dark Knight (2008). "Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now." Not exactly the same quote, but they sounded so similar when I read it, I just thought I'd throw that in there.
